Where we deliver in Massachusetts
We deliver across the Commonwealth. On the North Shore that means towns like Ipswich, Topsfield, Hamilton, Groveland and Newbury in Essex County. West of Boston we cover MetroWest towns like Sudbury, Concord, Framingham, Sherborn and Dover, plus Middlesex County farms near Lowell and Groton. In Worcester County we go to Worcester, Sturbridge, Sutton, Leicester and Harvard. Out in the Pioneer Valley we deliver near Springfield, Northampton, Amherst and Southwick, and in the Berkshires near Pittsfield, Lenox and Great Barrington. We also serve the South Shore and southeastern Massachusetts, including Plymouth, Duxbury, Rehoboth, Dartmouth and the farms of Bristol and Norfolk counties.
How ordering works
Go to our shop, pick your hay, choose the number of 18-bale pallets, and check out. We tell you your delivery week right away. A couple of days before that week, you'll get your delivery day and a tracking link by email and text. You don't have to be home. The driver drops your hay, takes a photo and sends it to you. Leave a delivery note if you want it in a certain spot.
Forklift delivery to your storage area
Our trucks have on-board forklifts, so your pallets come off the truck and go straight into your ground-level storage, whether that's a garage bay, run-in shed or barn floor. We don't hand stack or bring hay elevators. Lots of Massachusetts farms sit on tight suburban roads. If our tractor trailer can't get in, we can meet you nearby and load your pickup or trailer, or drop at a neighboring farm or business that can fit the rig.
Our hay
We don't grow hay anymore. Instead we buy hay from growers across the US and Canada, bring it to our farm in Earlville, NY, and press big bales into small bales of about 43 pounds. Each pallet holds 18 bales, shrink-wrapped to keep weather and dust off. Our lineup includes New York timothy-orchard grass in 1st and 2nd cutting, Western timothy, Western straight orchard grass, Western steamed alfalfa, a timothy-orchard-alfalfa mix and the SmartHay balanced pallet. We carry wheat straw for bedding, too. Browse grass hay, alfalfa, hay mixes and SmartHay.
All of our hay is lab-tested
Every load of hay we sell is lab-tested. Boarding barns, lesson programs and backyard owners all want to know what they're feeding, and we want you to feel good about every bale.
Massachusetts hay delivery FAQ
Do you deliver hay near Boston?
Yes. We deliver to farms and stables in the towns around Boston, including MetroWest, the North Shore and the South Shore. If your street can't handle a tractor trailer, we'll work out a nearby meeting spot.
Can you deliver to the Berkshires and the Pioneer Valley?
Yes. We deliver in western Massachusetts, including the Berkshires and the Pioneer Valley around Northampton, Amherst and Springfield.
I only have a small shed. Can you still deliver?
Yes, as long as there's a ground-level spot for the pallets. Each pallet is 18 bales, and our forklift places it anywhere our forklift can safely reach (it needs good solid ground and an opening at least 102" wide and about 101" tall). Add the spot to your delivery notes.
Can I pick a delivery time?
We don't book appointments. You'll get your delivery week when you order, then your day and a tracking link a couple of days before.
