Wondering what hay costs per bale, or how much a pallet of hay runs? Here are HayNow's current prices, pulled straight from our store. Every price includes delivery to your farm anywhere from New Hampshire to Virginia, next week, with the pallet set in place by the forklift on our truck. Every load tested.

Hay prices per bale and per pallet

Hay is sold in 18-bale pallets. Our hay bales average 43 lb, so a pallet of hay weighs about 774 lb (18 × 43 lb). The per-pallet column is simply the per-bale price × 18.

Prices as listed on haynow.com in October 2026 and can change with the season. Any pallet discount shown on the product page is applied in your cart. Wheat straw bales average 37 lb, so a straw pallet is about 666 lb.

What's included in the price

Delivery: next-week delivery from NH through VA at no extra charge.
Forklift placement: our trucks carry their own forklift and set your pallets in any ground-level spot the forklift can safely reach (solid ground and an opening at least 102" wide and about 101" tall).
Shrink-wrapped pallets: each 18-bale pallet is wrapped to keep the hay clean and protected from the weather.

How much does a bale of hay cost?

At HayNow, small square bales run from $16.25 for 1st cut timothy orchard grass to $23.50 for Western steamed alfalfa, delivered. We buy hay from growers across the US and Canada, then press it into small bales, palletize it and shrink-wrap it in Earlville, New York.
