How ordering works

Ordering hay should be as easy as ordering anything else online, so that's how we set it up. Browse the hay, choose how many 18-bale pallets you need, and check out. When you order, we tell you which week your delivery is coming. A couple of days before that week, you get your delivery day and a tracking link by email and text, just like a package from UPS or FedEx. You don't have to be home. Our driver snaps a photo when the hay is dropped and sends it to you. If you want it in a certain spot, just say so in the delivery notes.

Forklift delivery to your barn

Every truck carries its own forklift. Our driver unloads each shrink-wrapped pallet and places it in your ground-level storage area, whether that's an open run-in, a shed or the end of your barn aisle. We don't hand stack or bring elevators. If a narrow dirt road or a posted bridge keeps our tractor trailer from reaching your place, we can meet you in town and load your pickup or trailer, or drop at a neighbor's farm that has room for the rig.

Our hay

We don't grow hay anymore. We buy good hay from growers across the US and Canada, bring it home to our farm in Earlville, NY, and press the big bales down into small bales of about 43 pounds. Then we stack them 18 to a pallet and shrink-wrap them to keep out weather and dust. You can choose New York timothy-orchard grass in 1st and 2nd cutting, Western timothy, Western straight orchard grass, Western steamed alfalfa, a timothy-orchard-alfalfa mix, or our SmartHay balanced pallet. Yes. We deliver throughout New Hampshire, including the Seacoast, the Lakes Region, the Monadnock Region and the Upper Valley. Place your order online and we'll tell you your delivery week.

What if my road is posted during mud season?

Spring road postings are common in New Hampshire. If our truck can't get to your farm, we can meet you in your town and forklift the hay into your pickup or trailer, or drop it at a nearby farm or business that can fit our rig.

Do I need to be home when the hay arrives?

No. We deliver like UPS or FedEx. The driver places your pallets, takes a photo and sends it to you by email and text.

Can you stack the hay up in my loft?

No. We place pallets with our forklift in a ground-level storage area. We don't hand stack or bring hay elevators.
