Hay Delivery in Delaware
Whether you're north of the canal or down near the beaches, finding good hay in Delaware shouldn't take a dozen phone calls. HayNow lets you order hay online and get it delivered next week, placed by the forklift on our truck anywhere our forklift can safely reach (it needs good solid ground and an opening at least 102" wide and about 101" tall).
Where we deliver in Delaware
We deliver across the First State. In New Castle County we cover Wilmington, Newark, Hockessin, Greenville, Middletown and Townsend. In Kent County we deliver around Dover, Smyrna, Camden, Felton and Harrington. In Sussex County we go to Milford, Georgetown, Lewes, Milton, Seaford, Millsboro and Laurel. From hunt country in the north to the open farmland in the south, if you have horses, goats, sheep or other animals to feed, we can get hay to you.
How ordering works
Choose your hay online, pick how many 18-bale pallets you want, and check out. We tell you your delivery week right away. A couple of days before that week, you'll get your delivery day and a tracking link by email and text, just like a UPS or FedEx delivery. You don't have to be there. Our driver drops the hay, takes a photo and sends it to you. Use the delivery notes to tell us where to put it.
Forklift delivery, set in place
Each truck carries its own forklift. The driver places your shrink-wrapped pallets in your ground-level storage area, like a pole barn, a run-in or a garage bay. We don't hand stack or bring hay elevators. If our tractor trailer can't reach your place because of local road restrictions, we can meet you in town and forklift your hay into your pickup or trailer, or drop it at a neighboring farm or business.
Our hay
We don't grow hay anymore. We buy hay from growers across the US and Canada, bring it to our farm in Earlville, NY, and press big bales into small bales of about 43 pounds. Each pallet holds 18 bales, shrink-wrapped to keep it fresh. You can pick New York timothy-orchard grass in 1st and 2nd cutting, Western timothy, Western straight orchard grass, Western steamed alfalfa, a timothy-orchard-alfalfa mix or our SmartHay balanced pallet. We also carry wheat straw for bedding. Browse grass hay, alfalfa, hay mixes and SmartHay.
All of our hay is lab-tested
Every load of hay we sell is lab-tested. Delaware summers can be humid, so it helps to start with good, dry hay, and our shrink-wrap helps protect it after it's dropped.
Delaware hay delivery FAQ
Do you deliver hay in Sussex County?
Yes. We deliver throughout Delaware, including Sussex, Kent and New Castle counties.
Is shrink-wrapped hay good for humid weather?
The shrink-wrap helps keep weather and dust off your hay after delivery. We still recommend storing pallets under cover in a dry, ground-level spot.
Can I order hay for goats or sheep?
Yes. Our hay works for many kinds of animals. Each product page has details, and you can always ask us which hay fits your herd.
