Do you deliver hay in winter in Rockingham County?

Yes. We deliver 52 weeks a year, except major holidays. Southern New Hampshire winters bring snow and ice from December through March, so a full hay supply before the first big storm saves a lot of stress. Plow or sand a path wide enough for our truck and forklift to reach your storage spot, and tell us about steep or icy driveways when you order. If a tractor trailer can't make it up a snowy road, we can meet you at a nearby spot and forklift the pallets into your pickup or trailer.

How much hay should I stock up for winter?

A 1,000 lb horse eats roughly 20 lb of hay a day, so one of our 43 lb bales lasts about two days. From November through April that works out to about 90 bales, or 5 pallets, per horse. Goats and alpacas eat much less per head, so one pallet goes a long way for a small herd. Keep pallets in a dry, ventilated spot and feed the oldest hay first.
